It's only the past week or so that the sun's gone far enough below the horizon to get dark enough to see stars, but it's been cloudy most of the time.

Tonight, the sky is almost perfectly clear, so I went outside to take a look at the stars, and was instead treated to some pretty strong green aurora, mostly in an northeast-southwest band and some ripples to the north :)

That sounds so cool! No cool atmospheric stuff going on over here...

Woohoo!!!

I've only seen aurora in the sky once. (It's just really hard to get it, all the way down here.) It was mostly just a green glow to the north - though sometimes it did flicker a wee bit. (Apparently, the places north of us, that night, had a spectacular show!)

Where I live is one of the best places for viewing the stuff. We might not get multicolored very often, but when there is a certain level of solar activity in the winter, we see it almost every day.

How lovely to be able to see that from your own yard!
