Last friday, the dean sent us a mail that one of the glasses store chains will have a presentation next wednesday, and that there'd be a signup sheet on a certain message board. I read the mail on monday, and have been expecting the signup sheet for 3 days. Today, I mailed the dean asking where the sheet was.

Just now, I had to login to my school mail and send some graphics to my project partner. The very minute I logged in, I got a reply from the dean, saying she's been away for 3 days and has now told the institute secretary to put up the note, and thanked me for the reminder.

Now I only wonder if the original signup date has already expired or not, as it is for a dinner at the local fancy hotel ;)

Incidentally, one of the stores in this chain has had an ad for an optometrist (preferably with contact lens certification, which I won't have for 2 years) for a couple weeks now. The store looks nice judging by the ad, and isn't too far from my home region, so yesterday I called and inquired. As it turns out, I am the only one to have done so thus far, and will be going there to see the place and let them see me on the 22nd :) I guess the lack of competition is due to the store being in a more rural farming area. Granted, it's still large enough a place to have a major soccer team, and it has 150 000 people within a 30 minute train ride, but I kinda scared my sweetie yesterday by suggesting it's the kind of place you can expect to smell cow pee in spring ;)

The smell doesn't tend to get indoors (unless people get stupid and open all the windows or something) and it's only a couple days during spring.

it is the true smell of spring, baby!
