I spent the bulk of New Years Eve 1999 (and a significant portion of the following day) watching TV. It was a broadcast of New year's celebrations around the world in real time, starting and ending on either side of the Date Line in the middle of the pacific, and with a number of shows and musical performances from places that were anticipating the new millennium. The entire show lasted for something like 28 hours, and I watched as much as I could of it.

Other than two songs, what I remember from that day is a strong feeling of love for this world, and for the people in it. We are a stupid lot, but that doesn't mean we aren't capable of grace and goodness.

Happy New Year!

Hear hear.

Happy New Year to you and yours, and I enjoyed the majority of our first decade knowing each other. ;)
