I've never had as many problems with spyware as I've had after I installed Spybot S&D.

What kind of problems? I've been running S&D for quite some time and have never had problems with it.

I think/hope it was coincidental, but it still annoyed me enough to uninstall the thing. First I got one of those homepage hijackers, and my computer damn near crashed when I removed it. Then I had two programs sitting around my computer, trying to access the net and making my firewall complain. Spybot didn't remove either of them (Adaware found a registry entry for one of them after I'd manually removed the exe files for both). I also kept getting popups from revenue.net, whether or not I had any browsers open.

Hmm, maybe I don't go to the right sites;-) All I know is that both Spybot and Adaware don't catch everything, and that I've never had trouble with Spybot myelf. Of course, Mozilla is also fairly resistant to things being downloaded behind your back, so I might not yet have run into the things you're having trouble with.
