Shiny and pretty much solved

It seems there was a failed launch of a Russian rocket from Lake Ladoga yesterday morning, after all. Current theory is that the spinning circle was sunlight reflecting off of spilled rocket fuel, and the black circle was the rocket being destroyed.

I still want to know what caused the blue glow, though.

I saw pictures and videos of the "phenomenon", and they were pretty nifty, rocket or otherwise.
