If "Bridget Jones' Diary" really were the riff on Jane Austen it claims to be, I think Bridget wouldn't be the heroine but rather the silly little flirt with nothing but men in her head who repeatedly disgraced herself and her family.

Am I the only person in the world who can't stand reading Austen? Seriously. Reading Emma was like banging my head against a wall until my brains run out through my ears.

Maybe I should try a different one.
