Iraqi soccer players angered by Bush campaign ads

Not only is this ad disrespectful of Afghanistani and Iraqi athletes (and not just because neither nation has a woman competing in swimming), but it also seems that Bush is taking credit for the number of democracies going from 40 to 120 in 30 years. And how is Iraq free when one of their athletes cannot train as often as she wants to due to fights and bombing, and the home town of one of their main soccer players is currently being bombed to the ground by American forces?

Wow, can't believe Sports Illustrated published that article. There is hope yet. Off topic from what you brought up, but the press here in the US has always been suspiciously pro-Bush up until the last couple of months. Recently, though, even major papers like the Washington Post (I think-- I could be getting the wrong one) have gone back and taken a hard look at the way they covered the events leading up to the war, and even they are admitting/announcing that their coverage was slanted/did not answer important questions. So anyway, it's good to see an article like that in a mainstream paper, not some alternative news source.
