The local plantlife is nothing if not opportunistic.
A proper warm spell started last friday. Since then, we've lost a foot of snow (which had already dwindled to three feet) and bare spots are showing up everywhere. On saturday, there were two inches of bare ground between the snow and the wall outside where the flowered is. Today, there is half a foot of bare ground, and there are crocuses on the verge of blooming in that gap.
Oh, and now that it's past the equinox, I am getting more daylight hours than any of you :p
