The new lies about women's health - an article about how the fundamentalist right in the US sacrifices the health of women on the altar of sexual abstinence, on every single level. From wintersweet.

This is the type of thing you'd expect in countries like Iran or Taliban Afghanistan, not in the country where most of the scientists and researchers are working and developing new medical treatments and methods. Basically, this meddling doesn't just affect American women, it affects everyone.

As if it wasn't bad enough that so much medical research is angled towards what'll bring in cash and not towards cures (for instance, nobody is researching a cure for AIDS, because that won't bring in money like the medicines you have to take all your life will).

Yep, I'm rambling. Carry on. But read that article before you do.

That's a good summation of what's going on here. And it's all bullshit. Although I suppose we could give them credit for logical bullshit, since they really don't give a shit about anybody's life and carry that through in all their thinking.
