We got to see a 24% solar eclipse today :)
We didn't have any eclipse glasses, so I watched a webcam from Turkey of the totality (got some nifty screenshots and got to see a video of the diamond ring effect and a lot of corona. One of my screenshots is so blazingly white that I can't use it as a computer background, so instead I have one with a little corona and some visible protuberances. 'tis neat.)
Then, half an hour after totality in Turkey, I went outside with two sheets of white cardboard, one with a small hole in it. I held the one with the hole over the other, and got a picture of the sun with a bite taken out of it projected on to the other piece of cardboard :)
