My computer is acting up. It spent its entire previous existence on an ethernet connection. It no longer has the ethernet connection, and has responded by telling me over and over and over again that it has restored the system from a serious error (as in, every time I click the message to make it go away, I get a new one). I have no clue how to make it stop doing that, and I cannot try to get it online till I fix this.

Any suggestions?

(Tromsø is nice, there are snow on the mountains, work is with less training than I'd like but it's getting better, and pictures will be provided once I get my computer online)

Um, you could try uninstalling the ethernet card (this assumes that you have a solo ethernet card and not a combination card that has ethernet/cable/modem all on it). Uninstalling would probably require removing the card....not knowing much about ethernet cards, I'm not sure how effective this strategy would be.

Peace.
