Yuletide letter 2023 - Celamity on AO3

Dear Yuletide author,

Most of my fandoms in general are on the small side. Thank you for wanting to add to one of them!

Likes:

* Romance, pairings with strong emotional bonds
* Gentle physicality: hand holding, leaning foreheads against each other, face stroking, soft supportive touches, eyes meeting, etc.
* Family/found family/close knit group
* Hurt/comfort, light angst or pining with hopeful/happy ending
* Introspection
* Slice of life, fluff
* Humour
* Canon divergences within a given setting

I am fine with 5+1, Hanahaki, Soulmates, and kidfic.

Treats of all types are welcome for all requested fandoms.

Do Not Wants:

* Sex scenes (for BG1&2 and Willow: implied or referenced sex is okay if love is already established)
* Excessive violence and gore. For some fandoms, that means none; for others T-rated and borderline M is okay.
* Excessive swearing. This usually means not going far beyond canon-typical. I don't wilt at the sight of a fucking attention bomb, but I prefer them to be deployed with care and to have an impact when they occur.
* Cruelty to children or animals
* Non/dubcon, Omegaverse, Reader fic
* AU setting, Crossover
* Downer/unhappy ending, Hurt no comfort, Main character death
* Character bashing

Downer Ending is my absolute biggest DNW. I love all my requested characters and do not like to see them suffer with no respite or resolution.
If they fall, I want to see them get back up again. If they are whumped, I want them to be saved and cared for (no maiming!). If there is an argument, I want it to be resolved to everyone's satisfaction by the end of the story.
I like catharsis, relief, and hope, not misery.

Fandoms:

* Baldur's Gate I and II (Video Games)
* Willow (TV 2022)
* Cecilia - Frances Burney
* Bone (Comic)
* Elemental (Movie 2023)
* Sense and Sensibility - Jane Austen

1. Baldur's Gate I & II (Video Games)

Anomen Delryn

Fandom specific DNWs: 'Annoyman'. Quayle, Tiax, Korgan. BG:EE content, BG3 content. Some violence and gore and swearing is okay, but nothing M/E rated.

Anomen is my blorbo.

Yes, he is an acquired taste that not everyone shares, and the first impression of him is definitely that of a pompous windbag. But then he talks about how he saw knights in his childhood and wanted what he saw in their faces. He talks about hiding from his father. He talks about his anger, and how he never feels good enough. Because under the shiny veneer he tries to project, he is the grouchy child of an abusive alcoholic, with so much anger in him, and so eager to Prove His Father Wrong and Earn His Own Glory - if only he can figure out how.

I don't like watching him fail; I love seeing him grow. I love seeing him come to understand his connection with Helm, which I see as far more important than knighthood. I love seeing him fall in love, and evolve through those feelings. I love seeing him grapple with his position with regards to the Order. I love seeing him be, and become, part of a team.

Preferred ships are with a non-evil Charname, or with Nalia - but not both within the same story.
I prefer generally good or good-to-neutral aligned groups (with an additional soft spot for not-quite-evil Edwin).

Prompts:
* Lawful Good Anomen declines joining the Order, or renders himself ineligible, or leaves it within a short timespan
* Hurt/Comfort, either physical or emotional, or both.
* Anomen and a companion/love interest supporting each other
* Anomen serves the God of Guardians; let him guard/defend someone
* Interactions with a druidic Charname (note: DNW my own Charname!) - where would their outlooks differ, and where would they align?
* Romance, especially if he can respond to his chosen one's problems and needs in a way he can't quite do in a vanilla game :D Heck, give me something based on expanded lovetalks with different answers and more of a two-way conversation, and I would be delighted!

2. Willow (TV 2022)

Graydon Hastur, Elora Danan. Both are required.

Fandom specific DNWs: evil Graydon, evil Elora, Graydon/Wyrmlora, Graydon and Elora shipped with anyone except each other. Canon level swearing and violence/gore is okay, but nothing M/E rated.

Graydon is my not-so-hapless cinnamon roll of a son, and I would be very happy to see him not be in the hell that season 1 stuck him in. Thus, canon divergence is extremely welcome, as is post-canon.

I very much ship Graydon/Elora, but I also enjoy to see them as companions and friends.

Prompts:
* Getting Graydon out of hell
* AU: Keeping Graydon out of hell in the first place
* Reunion
* Pining
* Falling in love
* Bonding experiences
* Exploring and conquering things from Graydon's or Elora's past
* Exploring magic together
* Going on a quest for some artefact - where if things actually go according to plan, it will be to the shock and surprise of everyone involved
* Being there for each other, for instance in regards to Graydon's old trauma and the demands and expectations that Elora suddenly has to live up to
* One saving the other from some unscheduled disaster - or both saving each other in turn
* Doing some mundane everyday thing together
* Expanded Shattered Sea content

3. Cecilia - Frances Burney

Any character(s)

Fandom specific DNW: Exception to DNW Downer ending can be made for Mortimer or his father, as long as the others are happy.

The book "Cecilia" is the story of Miss Cecilia Beverley, heiress, whose large inheritance is dependant on her keeping her family name. A year shy of her majority when her last relative dies, she moves to London to live in the home of one of three chosen guardians. Her life from then on does Not Go As Planned.

I would love to see a story centered on any of the nominated characters:
* Cecilia, the titular heiress with the demands on her name
* Mortimer Delvile, the man she falls in love with, whose family has their own demands on his name
* Mr. Arnott, brother of her childhood friend, and the most helpful and least assuming of all Cecilia's would-be suitors
* Henrietta Belfield, a friend made by chance, who is infatuated with Mortimer after he assists her brother

Prompts:
* Canon compliant: various parties pining for other various parties, or developing feelings, or contemplating their situation (which could frequently be boiled down to family issues). Post-canon moments, preferentially slice of life/found family. Any little moment from the perspective of someone other than Cecilia herself.
* Canon divergent: Cecilia managing to end things with Mortimer and his family? Deferred wedding for sensible financial reasons? Cecilia choosing Mr. Arnott? Mortimer falling for poor Henrietta instead? Mortimer becoming Mr. Beverley after all?
* Canine compliant: Various parties bonding with, or over, a cute dog.

4. Bone (Comic)

Lunaria Harvestar

Fandom specific DNWs: Still no Downer Ending, but Bittersweet Ending is fine. No Thorn/Fone Bone ship.

Queen Lunaria's mark on the story is mostly through her absence from it, and from Thorn's life.
I want to know more about her.

Suggestions:
* A moment from her youth or from Thorn's infancy
* A festival or celebration
* Interactions with queen Rose (aka Granma Ben)
* Interactions with the red dragon
* Lunaria's role as a ruler in the face of a building crisis
* A dream. Regular, prophetic, interactive (for the dreamer)? This is Bone.
* An AU where Lunaria lives. How does she escape? How does her presence affect the unrolling plot? How does she fit in Granma Ben's new village life?

5. Elemental (Movie 2023)

Wade Ripple, Ember Lumen. Giver's choice.

Fandom specific DNWs: Wade and Ember shipped with anyone except each other. Canon typical violence and language is very welcome, but nothing requiring an M/E rating.

If a solo outing suits you better, they do not both have to be present in the story.

Prompts:

For the pairing:
* Learning to be together, either post-canon or in the months leading up to the epilogue
* Solving a problem together
* Elemental accidents happen!
* Celebrating Water and Fire holidays
* What happens when they touch?

For just one of them:
* Showcase them in their element, as it were
* Family interactions, especially with their parents

Vivisteria:
* How did Wade know it was there? Had he seen it himself before? Or did he go searching for it when Ember spoke of it? How did *he* feel, seeing it for the first time? Or the second time? Whose idea was it to air bubble down? Did Gale help come up with it? Had Ember ever seen, or been told, what vivisteria flowers looked like? Was she consciously aware that she was sculpting a vivisteria blossom in glass, or did it just come naturally to her to make that shape? Either way, why? What became of the glass vivisteria later?
Yep. I'm fascinated by that plant, both in its own right, and for the many things it means to Ember, and for the gesture it is for Wade to seek out a way to bring her to it.

Gentle physicality is especially welcome in this particular fandom!
Canonical level humour/slapstick would also be particularly appreciated.

6. Sense and Sensibility - Jane Austen

Edward Ferrars, Elinor Dashwood. Giver's choice.

I would love a story about either of these two, or about both together.

Suggestions:
* For the pairing: Becoming friends. First impressions. Pining. Canon scenes from Edward's point of view. Elinor's innermost thoughts. Expanding parts of their story as mentioned in the epilogue.

* For just one of them, a character study completely independent of their romance, such as Elinor interacting with one of her sisters, or Edward with one of his family members, or either of them having an introspective moment as suits their personalities.

* For something different: Hanahaki or Soulmates fic within an otherwise as-usual Austen setting
