This morning:

It is already noticeably brighter than last week. Mostly cloudy with clear sky to the south, said sky has been orange and yellow, and the sun is close enough to make some of the clouds red.

There is a fire at a pizzeria half a mile from our apartment. We have never eaten there, but we walk past it every time we go to the store. The pizzeria is adjacent to a gas station (the buildings touch each other), but news says the fire is under control now.

My toes are #"%"#¤/¤%(&()&! itchy.

We just looked out the window and caught a few minutes of perfect classical aurorae with bright rippling streamers, green with a hint of red, rolling over the sky like coiling dragons (also just saw Spirited Away, and yes we did go outside to enjoy the view more fully).
