Busy day today. We went to town around 1pm - a gibbous moon was in the north in earth's shadow (on the atmosphere not the moon) and there was a hazy glow to the south. It looked really awesome and I wished I had a 360 degree camera to capture it with.
We went to the local polar museum with two school friends of Aa, saw a lil movie about Antarctica and another lil movie about Svalbard and some arctic exhibitions and many fishes crabs and barnacles and 6 bearded seals and also saw those seals being fed, and saw geological maps of the Barents sea region, charts of the polar ocean currents and models of oil reservoars and something that simulated how the region had looked throughout geological history.
After all that, we went to the awesomest candle store and found christmas tree baubles. The place was dripping with candles in all shapes and sizes: flowers, flower clusters, trolls, santas, angels, curly, drippy, hexagonal.. my favorites were black with sparkly bits that looked like lumps of coal. And they had differently colored christmas trees throughout the store with fun baubles. The ones I got were cheap, turned out they were last year's model, look like blue and green soap bubbles. The whole place felt like condensed christmas spirit, very warm and rich and inviting.
