Ah, sweet silence.

Which was attained by going over to the neighbor building and informing the culprit about the sound range of his stereo system (no, he wasn't having a party). I was let in by two of his housemates, who claimed to be bothered by the music but apparently were unable to go to his room and say anything about it - I had to go back a second time when I realized they hadn't figured out I wanted them to ask him to can it for me.

Anyway, I have to get up in 4 hours, and my head hurts. Wish me luck in getting sleep.

Verdict: my belly must not be fed *anything* this morning.

It now only remains to be seen if I'll start dry heaving during the exam. It's not even an exam that I was particularly worried about (as witnessed by my oh so efficient studying the past 2 days).

I really, really hate that my body is so good at feeling sick and helpless and blah the night before important things.

Monaco's Prince Rainier dies

In other news, I got through my exam and have accomplished the great feat of eating some cookies, and shall now go buy some fruity concoction.

The results for the clinical exam were made public 3 hours after I left school today. I don't feel up to going to school tomorrow, so I am having a classmate check my grade for me in the morning (she was sure she'd fail and ended up getting an E, so she's happy).

I've heard back from the people in Bergen who want an optometrist for half a year with possibility of making it permanent. I haven't heard back from the people near Stavanger that might have use for an optometrist on a permanent basis. I guess I'll be calling them tomorrow, because I really rather would work there (and not as a temp).

The guy that went missing on New years day was found drowned on Monday (identified today), in some filter gratings in a very small power plant that's in the rapids part of the river in the middle of town. I was just looking at one of the notes his friends and family have hung all over town earlier today, and hoping he'd somehow show up now that the snow has melted. I also thought that they must be sure he was dead by now but wouldn't get closure unless they found out. I am glad they have now.
The poor guy had taken the bus home from Oslo after celebrating new year, fallen asleep and gotten off 1 hour too late (in my home town instead of in the town I work in), had gotten off the bus here and purportedly started walking home. And fallen in the river. He was 21 years old.
Life is short and random.
