Anyone still wondering why I refuse to even consider moving to a Bush-controlled America?

In other news, I would like to thank the resident flies for making my eclipse experience all about them. I got up at 4.45 to see the eclipse (which was gorgeous, once I found it) and had problems figuring out where the moon would be at that time. I stupidly opened one of my front windows to check.
My front windows are on the south side of the house, and it seems the flies huddle in the outer windowsill for warmth. Anyway, as I opened the window, I heard and felt little things falling out of it. I closed it, turned on the light, and saw at least 4 numb flies lying on the floor. I killed them, killed some more in assorted areas of the windowsill, some more crawling on the wall, some more on the floor, and one that got warm enough to fly. Since the initial rush, I've killed 5 more that I discovered when they were warm enough to start buzzing around.
Previous record was 5 flies in one minute. My initial estimate of today's batch was a dozen or so in one minute, but now it's more like twenty. In one minute.
I'll leave it to your imaginations to picture what would have happened in here if I hadn't killed the bulk of them before they warmed up.
I hate flies.

I just swept up the remnants of roughly two dozen flies which all died either this morning or this evening. I really hope I've wiped out the invasion by now.

I'd prefer getting ladybugs, like I did last winter.

It's been cloudy and around freezing all day. Weather doesn't smell like snow quite yet, but it definitely looks like it's thinking about it.
