Sweet, sweet rain

It's been really hot and muggy lately, with scorching sun and no wind. I looked out from behind closed curtains early this afternoon and saw some white cloud puffs forming. This cheered me; I hoped for rain tomorrow.

Two hours ago, my sweetie saw a flash of lightning. We went outside and saw an impressive lil thunderstorm headed our way. We took some pics and even a couple little .mov clips that caught some bolts in the area of highest intensity before I decided I'd challenged my fear of lightning for long enough. We threw open the windows to let the suddenly cooled air inside, and watched the lightning and the rain from the covered porch till the storm had passed over us and mellowed out.

It's still raining, with the occasional far off flash. This room is significantly cooler. Bliss :)
