Today, exactly one month after he got here (and 3 and a half weeks after we applied), my husband's residency and work permit was approved :)

Yay! Now throw on the maribou slippers and filmy negligee, plop down in front of the soaps, and tell him to get to work supporting you, already!

aw that's ace.

now is it like US immigration where he gets a residency and work permit but in a couple of years you gotta go see them again and go "BUT WE'RE SO IN LUUUUUUUUUUV" so that he can stay forever or is it straight-up permanent residency?

Hooray!! :)

This first permit is for 1 year. Then we go say "hi, we're still married, he's not a mooch, we want a new one" or something like that and get a new one. Second time we renew we get a permanent one, I think. And the only things they asked me when we applied was when we met, i.e. made sure this wasn't just an impromptu holiday wedding between strangers.

Jealous? :)

not jealous, exactly, although that year thing is awesome because here those ins bastards make you go back and go back and go back some more and they're all bloody rude as well. so i'm glad it's easier for him to be over there.

some days i can't wait for the one world government people keep promising me. other days i can't wait for stephenson's claves...
