I have my haircut. I am mostly pleased with it (some bits at the side are misbehaving, but as haircuts on me go, it's one of the better I've had)

I have also found out that norwegian authorities won't recognize our marriage certificate till it gets a special stamp on it that they did NOT tell me I'd need when I called to ask what was needed back when I was still in the US. So now I won't get registered as married OR get my name change for another couple weeks, and my sweetie has to get a new copy of the certificate and figure out how to get this mystery stamp and get it sent to me.

I am starting to feel like the world doesn't want me to change my name.

I remember the dramas after we were married. It's incredible how hard they make it. *then* I had to carry my marriage certificate around with me for years, because i had to prove *I* was the same person who had passed all those exams years ago.

bhargh! the bastards. i wonder where they find those people who don't seem to know what love, or even common sense, is.

change your name to something weird instead! what about "JeghaterbyrÄkratene ByrÄkratenehatermeg"? that could almost be a name from a small thai hill tribe.

Changing your name is too much of a hassle. Which was why I didn't. Plus changing your name plays into the patriarchy...! Well, and my name is much cooler than his.
